Avocados are a Healthy Fat, that actually Helps Lower Cholesterol (If no more than 1 a day is eaten) If you're eating more than one a day, that's fine, if you don't have Diabetes, High Blood Pressure or High Cholesterol. Also, if you're eating a Monster Big Avocado (like I like to buy-limit that to 1/2 a day)This is a great little cookbook that encompasses several Soup, Salad, Dips and Smoothie Recipes. A little disappointed that it doesn't include the many Desserts that cam be made with avocados and the numerous Savory Dishes. I'm a Avocado LOVER. I make at least 20 Desserts with avocados, Chocolate Brownies, Cakes, Microwave Mug Cakes, Etc. I also make numerous Savory Dishes and there isn't much of that included, with the exception of a few Spaghetti Recipes. Breakfast Fare with avocados, is excellent too. Yes, avocados work great for breakfast. They can be served Hot or Cold for Breakfast. Try them sometimes, just sliced with Eggs. They're Yummy!!! They have included a muffin and egg breakfast recipes, but more would have been preferable. That being said, this cookbook is 78 pages of numerous healthy avocado recipes. The majority of the recipes are Salads and Smoothies, but the book does give you some imaginative ideas for uses of avocados, the best of which I'm listing below. This book covers a large variety of avocado salads, dips, avocados in sandwiches, avocados in soups, in baked goods, and smoothies.I have read some self-published book where the authors did not separate recipes by page breaks, but this book is well formatted - each recipe is on its own page and most do not require flipping a page in the middle of cooking.I have a tried a number of recipes in the book, Beets and Avocado (from salads) has been my favorite so far as Avocados break up the sweetness of the beets nicely and nuts add a nice crunch. Chicken and Avocado soup is a nice one to take to work for lunch. As a main entree Avocadp and Chicken Risotto has a combination of flavors that I enjoyed.What could be better? I would have liked to see photos for each recipe. The book has none. Seeing a photo helps me select the recipe to make and gives me confidence the author has tried each recipe.Ali Julia review

I saw a recipe elsewhere that had breaded-and-fried avocado, which piqued my curiosity. What else could be made from avocado besides guacamole?Not much, it seems. Dips, smoothies (which are a *runny* dip) and you can chunk it onto salads, according to this cookbook. No roast avocado, no french-fried avocado, no avocado/greenbean.onion ring casserole. This is a cookbook Johnny One Note would love.I doubt I'll e ver open this one open. ever again. On the other hand, it's grammatical and clear, nicely formatted., and it's not full of references to brand-name products, making you think that it's recycled ads from women's magazines. Much careful work went into producing the cookbook; it's a shame there's no "there" there.

Loved the recipes in this book, Other works by the author are highlighted at the end.

If you LOVE avocados and have no idea what to do with them, this is your book. If you are mildly creative however, few of these recipes will strike you as unique enough to try more than once.Limited recommendation
