I bought this book as a gift for my cousin's baby shower. It's so cute! The pages are more flexible than some board books, but still very well-made. I love the "girls can do anything" message without being too in your face. Perfect for the strong little girl (or boy) in your life!
Not the best example of jobs. If I had skimmed this book at the store I would not have purchased it. I’m sorry but a gymnast and referee are not jobs. Sure my daughter can do both of those things as hobbies but it’s not a realistic depiction of what’s out there in the world for her.
I bought this book for my daughter and it’s better than I expected. I love how each job/letter is creative, and defies gender stereotypes. The pictures are diverse and show women of all ethnic backgrounds, as well as someone in a wheelchair. I will now buy this as a baby gift for any friend pregnant with a girl. Trust me, you won’t be disappointed.
My kids love this book and so do I. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because the font of the alphabet makes some of the letters less recognizable for children who are just learning their letters. But overall, the content and illustrations are lovely and it’s a book the whole family can enjoy. I really like the representation. It shows a woman in a wheelchair and one in hijab, and a variety of skin tones. The featured careers are varied and some even surprising (in a good way). Must have!
Excellent book for toddlers and preschoolers (and even early readers). Bright, simple illustrations and concise, simple sentences. This book is larger than average (see pics) and has thick pages (like a board book but not quite that thick). The book features diverse characters, too- always a plus! Worth the money :)
I bought this book as a gift for my friend's 2-year-old. I love that the illustrations depict girls from all walks of life and a wide range of occupations, including some that are typically portrayed as more masculine/more feminine. This is a fun way to not only teach kids their ABC's, but also to instill a sense of empowerment in girls from a young age.
I love this book! My daughter loves books, and I like to get books with a strong, positive message. We got it in board book form and it is larger than normal board books, but I like that.
Full-sized board book of what your little girl can become as an adult. Includes both traditional and non-traditional occupations. Beautiful illustrations!
